Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 May 2026
Gdaymayte is a free information site. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We collect the minimum we need to make the site work and to understand which content people find useful. This policy follows the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you browse the site. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, timestamp). These are processed automatically and used in aggregate, not to identify you personally.
When you send feedback or contact us. The message itself, the page URL you sent it from, and your email address if you provide one. Email is optional. Without one we have no way to reply.
When you take the visa-finder quiz. Your answers are processed in your browser to suggest visa pathways. We do not store individual quiz responses against your identity.
Cookies. A small number of cookies for functionality and analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Why we collect it
To run the site, fix bugs, and improve the content based on what readers actually use. To reply when you contact us. We never use your information to make immigration decisions about you, recommend visas to you personally, or pass your information to migration agents.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of third parties to run the site:
- Email delivery service. When you contact us, your message is delivered through this service so we can respond.
- Hosting and analytics providers as listed in our Cookie Policy.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with migration agents, government agencies, or marketing partners. We will disclose information only where required by Australian law (for example, a valid court order).
Where your data is stored
Most processing happens within Australia. Some third-party services we use process data overseas. Where data is sent outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled to a standard at least equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.
We keep feedback messages for as long as they are useful for responding and improving the site, typically up to 24 months. We delete on request at any time.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your information
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
Gdaymayte is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the “Last updated” date at the top of the page changes. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least 30 days.
